Located on a sloping, lake side property in a large conservation community 32 miles south of downtown Atlanta, the Serenbe house is designed to reflect the interests of the owners and the principles of the development: land preservation, outdoor living and sustainability. The house also incorporates the design guidelines for its location within the development. These include generous setbacks, two-sided porches accessible from the street, horizontal proportioning and prominent rooflines.

The two-story courtyard plan provides private outdoor living space adjacent to the main level of the house. The living room, dining room and master suite feature direct access to the courtyard terrace and views to the lake beyond. Guest bedrooms, media room, workout room and office are located on the upper level. The upper level also incorporates a wrap-around porch, outdoor seating and the entry bridge leading from the public walkways. A green roof above the garage provides additional outdoor space and access to an elevated screened-in pavilion.
